Wolf Kahn, Green Landscape
Wolf KahnGreen Landscape with Greenhouses, 2012
Oil on canvas, 64 x 84 in.
Ameringer | McEnry | Yohe is proud to present Wolf Kahn, an exhibition of recent paintings that is perfectly suited to usher in the summer season. Born in Germany, Kahn immigrated to New York, where he later became the studio assistant to Abstract Expressionist painter Hans Hofmann. Over a career that has spanned more than half a century, Kahn has received a Fulbright Scholarship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and an Award in Art from the Academy of Arts and Letters. His serene landscapes can best be described as a unique amalgamation of Realism and color field painting that sets him apart from other artists. Kahn’s work can be found in established institutions and private collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA, and the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, D.C.

Ameringer | McEnry | Yohe, located in New York City, is a leading gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art. As the primary representative of 20 Contemporary artists and artist estates, Ameringer | McEnry | Yohe exhibits the work of artists such as Hans Hofmann, Robert Motherwell, and Helen Frankenthaler. Wolf Kahn will be on view through July 26, 2013.

Mixed media with Korean mulberry paper
59.4 x 59.4 in.

Art Plural

Currently on view at the Singapore-based Art Plural Gallery is Chun Kwang Young: Assemblage, a solo exhibition of Chun Kwang Young. The Korean artist is best known for his Aggregation series, which consists of structural works made of hundreds of foam triangles wrapped in hanji, or Korean mulberry paper. Seemingly minimal from a distance, a closer inspection reveals dynamic landscapes created by these tiny shapes. To Young, every triangle represents a singular idea, and the finished work is an aggregation of these messages.

“It is a great honor to present Chun Kwang Young’s newest body of work at Art Plural Gallery. With its uniquely poetic aesthetics, the message of his work is more powerful than ever today.” -Frédéric de Senarclens, founder of Art Plural Gallery.

Located in Singapore’s cultural district, Art Plural Gallery is dedicated to showcasing Modern and Contemporary Art and Design. Chun Kwang Young: Assemblage is on view until July 27, 2013.
