Norman Felix Gallery presents "Through Random Eyes"
August 17th- 21st
Reception: Saturday August 17th, 6-11pm
Norman Felix Gallery is proud to present Through Random Eyes, the first solo show from acclaimed artist RANDOM. Please join us on Saturday August 17, 2013 for the exhibition opening extravaganza and an opportunity to meet the artist and be a part of his fascinating lifestyle.
Through Random Eyes chronicles the artists’ life and travels over a series different artworks, genres and mediums. From his humble beginnings in Auckland to the ultra fast-paced life of Tokyo, and now in our fair city of Toronto, witness the beauty of how “life is random”.
For one night only, the gallery space will be transformed into a lifestyle experience that will captivate all your senses. Human canvases painted by RANDOM will be interacting through the crowd. Music provided by local heavyweight DJ Parasol and International DJ Scott Seewhale. Drinks supplied by The Steam Whistle Brewery and snacks by Gladycakes. Proper Barbers will be onsite making sure patrons keep looking fresh with fades and haircuts, and the Official Afterparty is being hosted by the good people at A-OK Foods. Available for purchase will be original works of art, special and limited editions prints on different mediums, and several other surprises that encompass his vision.
The artist started his career with random blackbook sketches and painting graffiti. It was this do-it-yourself mentality that shifted his focus from illegal walls to legitimate gallery shows working with whatever equipment and materials he could find. These days, he splits his time between being Toronto’s Number One Body Artist and Tattoo Apprentice. Rave reviews for his art come from the likes of Red Bull NZ, Quintin Fitted Caps, Sitka Surfboards, Nike Canada, The Steam Whistle Brewery and a host of restaurants and bars now adorned with his art
RANDOM is now a Toronto-based artist who has presented his work in galleries all over the world. Previous exhibitions include The Ebisu Solo Art Show in Tokyo, Japan, The Colour of Originality at Kerr St Art Space in Auckland, New Zealand, and the Deck Deck Deck custom skateboard exhibition in Long Island, New York among others.
