|We are pleased to announce that Battat Contemporary is now representing artists Julie Favreau, Patrick Bernatchez and Grier Edmundson.
Current recipient of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) six-month London studio residency, Sophie Jodoin, will be exhibiting how permanent is permanent, an installation of works created and selected for the Acme Project Space. This new series of annotated found book pages, works on paper and photographs, presents quiet investigations into time and stillness. The disparate elements cohere in an austere set of voices and an ambiguous visual narrative. Each work functions as a word pulled into a complex foreboding repository of loss and memories. The exhibition is from February 20 to March 2nd, 2014.
The work of Beth Stuart is to be featured in a two-person exhibition with artist Cynthia Girard at the Esker Foundation in Calgary, Alberta. The exhibition opens on May 30 and will run until the end of the summer.
Concordia University’s FOFA Gallery will present a solo exhibition of Julie Favreau in conjunction with the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Fellowship, awarded to the artist in 2012. The opening will be held on April 4th and will close in May with a book launch. In addition to this show, the installation Un bandeau sur les yeux… be part of the Faire comme si show (curated by Anne-Marie St-Jean Aubre) at the Maison des arts de Laval on May 11th 2014.
Our next show, I think of you – a group show will open on March 13, 2014 starting at 6 pm.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 12 to 6pm, Saturday, 12 to 5 pm or by appointment
